Terms

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of oaken.gg (about the project). By using the site, and again by creating an account, you accept them. If you do not agree with something here, the honest options are to write to silverakcel@oaken.gg or not use the site. How we handle your data is its own document: the privacy policy.

You must be at least 13 years old, or older where your local law sets a higher age for using services like this one. You may not use the site if you were banned from it, and creating a new account to get around a ban is itself a breach of these terms.

Your account is yours: keep the email and sign-in providers attached to it secure, and don't share access. You are responsible for what happens through it. One person per account; bots and shared accounts need written permission from the operator.

Everything you publish here (posts, images, builds, tier lists, wiki contributions, record submissions) stays yours. So that the site can function, you grant oaken.gg a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display and distribute that content as part of operating and promoting the service. The license ends for content you delete, with two carve-outs that keep the community whole: deleted posts leave hidden placeholders so other people's threads keep their shape, and public site history such as world records survives account deletion in anonymized form, as the privacy policy describes.

You are responsible for what you publish: post only what you have the right to post.

Oaken Tower is a friendly game and this is a friendly place. Kept that way by exactly one list:

• Nothing illegal. No content or conduct that breaks the law, anywhere it applies. Any sexual content involving minors is reported to authorities, zero tolerance.
• No abuse of people. Harassment, hate, threats, doxxing or publishing anyone's private information.
• No deception. Impersonating members, staff, or the game's developer; scams; misleading links.
• No fake climbing. Falsified records, doctored proof, manipulated votes, likes or follows, spam, or engagement farming.
• No breaking things. Malware, exploiting vulnerabilities, scraping at abusive rates, or interfering with the infrastructure. (Found a vulnerability? Email us, we genuinely appreciate it.)
• No stolen work. Content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademarks.

Members can report content, and staff review reports. When something crosses the list above, staff may remove content, correct or remove records, restrict features, or suspend and ban accounts, matching the response to the harm. World records carry an extra duty of care: submissions may be verified, adjusted or removed to keep the boards honest, and staff decisions there are made conservatively and in the open where possible.

If your content or account was actioned and you think we got it wrong, email silverakcel@oaken.gg with the details. A person reads the appeal, and mistakes get reversed.

oaken.gg is a fan-built community project. It is not the game, and unless explicitly stated it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Oaken Tower's developer. Game art, names and assets that appear here belong to their respective owners and are used in a community, non-commercial spirit. If you are a rights holder and want something changed or removed, email silverakcel@oaken.gg and it will be handled promptly; the same address takes copyright complaints about member content, with enough detail to find the material.

oaken.gg is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. It is a living project: features ship, change and occasionally retire, and while uptime and data safety are taken seriously (backups, EU hosting, encryption in transit), no availability or fitness for a particular purpose is guaranteed. Game data shown here can lag or diverge from the live game.

To the maximum extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, and total liability for anything else is limited to the amount you paid to use it, which is zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing reduces consumer protections your local law grants you.

You can leave whenever you like: deleting your account in Settings works immediately and the privacy policy describes exactly what it does. The operator may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, and may discontinue the service itself with reasonable notice on the site. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content license carve-outs, liability limits, disputes) survive it.

These terms can change as the site grows. The date at the top moves when they do, material changes get announced on the site, and continuing to use oaken.gg after a change means accepting it. These terms are governed by the law of the operator's country of residence, without displacing mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stands. A failure to enforce something once is not a waiver.
